Spring 2011

Fall/Winter 2009

Life is a journey  . . .  I was offered a high school ceramics teaching position in Flagstaff, AZ on the Thursday before school was slated to start and I arrived ready to work the following Tuesday.  Needless to say, it's been a hectic Fall moving and getting settled into a new job and back in Flagstaff.  Thanksgiving has just passed and I am most thankful to have such a supportive, flexible and adventurous life-partner (did I mention how cute he is?).

Spring 2009

What a crazy-busy winter and spring!  The life of a teacher is so intensely absorbing - I wouldn't have it any other way although I wish I could find more balance in creating time for my own artwork (and for playing outside!) - isn't that always the way?!

Winter 2008

Happy winter! I know that may be an oxymoron for many of my Midwestern friends and family but boy do we LOVE snow in a ski town. We were fortunate to get nearly 6 feet of fresh powder over Christmas. Ya-hoo!

Fall 2008

My friend and website designer, Jim Taylor, came up with this brilliant idea to host a newsletter. Here is the first of hopefully many quarterly newsletters to come from yours truly at Elemental Artworks.

This summer I spent two weeks at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN participating in a woodfire workshop hosted by professors Jason Hess of Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, AZ and Dan Murphy of Utah State in Logan, UT.
